12 days. I’ve been impatiently waiting for the day of prom to arrive for a long while. Compared to other schools, our prom is later than most. Some of my friends who go to Beacon or live in other states have had theirs already. Every time I see a new set of prom photos posted on Facebook or Instagram, I immediately get excited. Most late nights, you can catch me watching YouTube videos of girls getting ready for prom. I’ve done this once before last year when I was a junior. This year, feels so much more different. I’m going all out!! I’ve gotten my dress and I’m absolutely in love with it. I haven’t gotten my shoes and I’m still also undecided about what I want to do with my hair and makeup but I’m not all that worried. I know I’ll figure it out. In a sense, I feel like the night of prom will be the best day of my life…but I know it’ll go by quickly. We’ll wait all this time until it comes and when the day finally does arrive it’ll go by quicker than I wanted it to. My one hope is that it really will be one of the best nights so that it can be one to remember even through college when I’m missing the familiarities of home.
