Who says you have to travel to Montauk or the Hamptons to get great lobster rolls? There’s plenty of restaurants and food trucks right here in New York that put together great lobster rolls with fresh ingredients. If you check online for the schedule of the Lobster Truck you should definitely try their lobster rolls because they are very good. The truck comes from Red Hook, Brooklyn and parks in different locations around the city so everyone can taste their lobster rolls and seafood items. The prices are also a little less expensive than a restaurant and just as good. City Crab Shack, an outpost from City Crab which was a recently closed restaurant in my neighborhood has great everything. But try the lobster rolls with french fries and you can’t go wrong. They’ve been doing this for a long time and certainly know how to do it right.
My favorite pic to buy lobster rolls is in the Lobster Palace located in the Chelsea Market right down the block from LAB. If you don’t mind long lines during lunch time, which by the way move very quickly, these are the best tasting one’s to me. The lobster is so fresh and sweet and the bun is toasted to perfection. It’s pretty pricey but they stuff a lot of lobster pieces into one bun and it’s really great. When they say your food will be ready in less than 5 minutes they mean it, all packed and ready to go with a bag of chips.
Summer is here so try something different and check out one of these places for great lobster rolls and enjoy every bite.
