Saffrons are valuable stigmas that come from the purple crocus. Collecting saffron is a tedious process, hence its high price compared to other species in the market. Each of the flowers contains only three stigmas that are handpicked and later died. Saffrons contain significant amounts of nutrients and it is highly beneficial to ones overall health. It is used for disease prevention, therapeutic applications, antidepressant, digestive properties, cell formation/repair, blood pressure, heart diseases,  blood cell reproduction, and much more. Uses for saffron varies. It is used widely in food, medicine, and beauty remedies. Saffron is highly beneficial for the skin in the following ways:

  • Radiant Skin and Toner: Place few strands of saffron in the rosewater and apply it to bare face daily.
  • Treatment for Acne and Blemishes: Make a paste of about 10 basil leaves and twice the amount of saffron. Then apply to face and wash with cold water.
  • Preventing Dull Skin: Make saffron water by soaking few strands of saffron in water overnight. Then, add a few drops of coconut oil or olive with, along with sugar. Massage into the skin to remove dead cells and give a glow.
  • Luminous Complexion: Soak saffron in honey and mix. Add a few drops of green tea water and a teaspoon of turmeric powder. Make a paste and apply to skin. Rinse with cold water, then apply saffron water.
  • Brightening Skin: Mix lemon juice, 3-4 saffron strands, honey, yogurt, and green tea water. Then, apply on face and wash when completely dry.
  • Improve Skin Texture: Mix milk powder with saffron and boiling water. Make a paste and apply to skin.
